The release of Bloodhound has been delayed twice. It was originally supposed to be published in 2007. Delayed to December 2008. Now again to Spring 2009. Haven’t heard any news about why it was delayed. Within the Ntugo Network we have been speculating about the reason. In all seriousness, we are excited about the Cooper series. Beka Cooper from Terrier is an excellent character, and we are hoping to not wait much longer for the next book.
Note the poll to the right for laughs. (Poll taken down)

WHAT?! No! I thought Ms. Pierce had written the second book and was just waiting for the publisher to string us along and only release one per year. Argh!

I would have thought she was done, too. There is even cover art already. Disappointing, but she’s got alot of projects going on at once. Don’t know whether the hold up is Pierce or the publisher, since they are not saying.

The book’s back said Bloodhound would be out by this Januray!!!! NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! What went wrong I wonder? Hmmmmm….bet a giant squid stole it right out from under her pen (or even a laptop) when she was on a free vacation in the Bahamas!

Most definitely LOL! By your response, anatucker, I guess you think we should add an Other to the poll. I like your thinking.

Anyone know how involved Tamora Pierce is with the Writers’ Guild (WGA)? Could this possibly be a new twist in the writers’ strike? Some publishing companies are related to TV companies.

I read on her livejournal that she’s got major writer’s block concerning the plotline. Hopefully she’ll get over it soon and get this thing out to her impatient readers!

I’m not too surprised. I thought it ambitious and amazing that she could set a timeline for herself with new books published almost every year and stick to it fairly well. While I am disappointed, I’d rather she not rush and end up with a lesser quality book.
I read her other series after they were totally published, so I didn’t have to wait for the next book. How spoiled I’ve become.
