Candlewick Press: Cambridge, MA, 2006. A Lion wanders into the local library and is told he can stay if he follows the rules. He becomes a regular, helping the librarian. When she needs the most help, he is chased away for not following the rules. This is a fun story regarding libraries. It has a gentle reminder about rules, but also discusses the necessity of ignoring them sometimes. The illustrations are pastel colors, lighter than what Hawkes usually uses. The mood is lighthearted, with some wonderful pictures.
