A mama and baby bear are feeding to store food for the winter. The mama is teaching her baby, who shows curiosity and playfulness in his climbing higher for a peek over the trees and his diving into the river to catch a moonlight fish. The story is so simple, but it has a poignant feel. Lovely to think of a parent teaching a child about bears in nature, just as the mama bear is teaching her young. All have delightful print work, in color. This particular story takes place in the winter and follows a lone fox exploring the snowy countryside. The story is simple, yet evokes a deep understanding. The fox is looking for companionship. I was surprised to see the age of the books. The style and story are ageless.
