Picture Book of the Month for February 2013
This month’s selection is 2 books with the same character. There is no dialogue, and yet he has great personality through the pictures. I picked them both, primarily because I found them at the same time. The text is simple enough to use for learning reading or sharing with toddlers. These two books remind me of Jon Muth’s zen books. Teaching morals to the young, but in a matter of fact way, as an everyday part of growing and living. They have the same tone. Very nicely done.
